My brother (Tommy’s uncle) Fred recently sent me a couple of photos taken recently. Below is a picture of Fred and his daughter, Maureen.
Below is a photo of his oldest daughter, Patience.
After serving with the Peace Corps in what was then Zaire (and now Republic of Congo) for a number of years, first as a volunteer and later as a paid administrator, Fred returned to the United States with his wife, Gode, and their daughter, Patience. They eventually had two more children, Maureen and Phillip. After Fred got his MBA at the Monterey Institute, Fred and his family eventually moved to the Washington DC area, where he now works. Sadly, Gode passed away when her children (Patience, Maureen, and Phillip) were still small — but luckily for me, before Gode passed away I got to meet her and spent quite a bit of time with her and the family. I remember her as a very sophisticated and intelligent woman, extremely gracious, who always treated me like an honored visitor in her home.
